When Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively met, she had been working on the hit show, ‘Gossip Girl’. She was reeling from her break-up with her co-star on the show, Penn Badgley, and wanted a relationship that was rooted. Ryan, on the other hand, had had a divorce from ‘Black Widow’ star Scarlett Johansson.
So, when Blake and Ryan got together, they knew they wanted the relationship to last. So, they made a rule. Blake shared it on her friend Amber Tamblyn’s show, ‘Further Ado’. She said, “When Ryan and I got together, we made a rule not to work at the same time. So that we could always prioritize our personal life.”
The couple got married in 2012 and have kept up the rule through will and hard work. The actress further shared about the challenging vow, “That takes working really hard when we’re not. Just like financial planning and sustaining that; it takes balance.”

Blake And Ryan Are Acing Parenthood
It’s no secret that Ryan Reynolds is a family man. He is a great husband and an ideal dad. No matter what, he flies home to Blake and their four kids.
The duo is fiercely protective of their kids. Ryan spoke to People about letting the spotlight hit his kids by introducing them to acting. The ‘Deadpool’ star said, “Putting a kid in a business like this, it’s generally not about the kid. It’s usually about the parents.”
He added, “When they’re older, they can do whatever the hell they want. I’m excited for that. Our job is to foster as much interest in as many different things as possible at this point.“
Lively also came to her own as a mother. She opened up in an interview with Forbes, “I never felt more myself or at ease in my own body or more confident. Not to say that there aren’t a bevy of insecurities coming at me a million times a day, but I just feel incredibly settled.”
