Don Gummer born in December 1946 in Kentucky is a sculptor. He graduated from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and went on to receive a MFA from Yale University. The sculptor has had his works exhibited in groups and solo in galleries around the globe.
Gummer met Meryl Streep when she was in a very difficult situation. The actress mourning the death of a boyfriend of two years, John Cazale. ‘The Godfather’ actor had died of lung cancer. This led to Streep staying at the sculptor’s apartment as he traveled. However, the two soon fell in love and got married six months later in 1978 at her parent’s home in Connecticut. The couple has four children- Henry Wolfe Gummer, Mary Willa “Mamie” Gummer, Grace Gummer, and Louisa Jacobson Gummer.

Meryl Streep And Don Gummer Separated For Six Years
Meryl Streep has kept much of her married and family life away from the spotlight. However, it has been revealed that the couple has been separated for six years now. The couple had not been seen publically since 2018 but the ‘Devil Wears Prada’ actress still had her wedding band on.
“Don Gummer and Meryl Streep have been separated for more than 6 years, and while they will always care for each other, they have chosen lives apart,” a spokesperson for the three-times Oscar-winning star informed Page Six. The two had a strong relationship with each other for the 45 years of their marriage.
