Millie Bobby Brown has never been shy about sharing her unfiltered thoughts, but her latest comment has fans doing a double-take.
The ‘Stranger Things‘ star says she’s certain she lived a past life as a closeted gay male soldier who died a brutal death on the battlefield.
Millie Bobby Brown’s Past Life Claim Explained

The 22-year-old actress made the claim during a joint interview with her ‘Enola Holmes 3‘ co-star Louis Partridge, done by Capital Buzz as part of the pair’s press tour. What started as a chat about their upcoming mystery sequel quickly turned into a conversation about reincarnation.
Brown didn’t hesitate. “Oh, I actually know exactly who I was,” she told Partridge, before explaining that a birthmark near the base of her spine is, in her view, physical proof of how she died in a former life.
According to Brown, the mark isn’t just a coincidence; it’s a map. She went on to describe exactly how she believes her past self met its end. “In war, some, well, I don’t know if this happened a lot or not, but… to kill people but make them have a painful death, they would put swords up people’s spines,” she explained. “So they were completely paralyzed, but they would obviously kind of die, and that’s how I think I died. So I think I might have been a soldier.“
Brown didn’t stop at the method of death. She was just as confident about her past self’s identity, telling Partridge she was “definitely a man” in her last life, before adding with a smile that she hopes she was a closeted gay man.

Her co-star, though, wasn’t exactly a believer. When Brown turned the tables and asked Partridge if he had any idea who he might have been in a past life, he gave her a flat answer. “No, I don’t believe in past lives,” he said. Brown, unbothered, simply replied, “Okay, well, that ends that then.“

The exchange has since taken on a life of its own online, with clips racking up views across social media. There’s a bit of irony in the timing too. Brown already got to hold a sword on screen fairly recently, in her 2024 action film ‘Damsel‘. There, she played a young woman married off to a prince only to be offered up as a sacrifice to a dragon. Whether that role stirred up any past-life memories, she didn’t say.
As for which war, era, or army her supposed former self might have served in, Brown didn’t offer any further details, and skeptics have been quick to point out that swords haven’t been standard battlefield weapons for centuries, if not longer. But for an actress who has built a career playing characters caught between the ordinary and the supernatural, from psychokinetic outcasts to monster-hunting detectives, a bit of unexplained past-life lore seems right on brand.
