During her Vogue interview, Millie explained that the scanner plays an important role in something she deeply cares about. The actor shared that she uses it when she comes across stray dogs and cats, as it helps her check whether they already have a microchip.

Talking about it, Millie said, “Kind of random. But I carry a microchip scanner with me, which scans dogs, scans their microchip numbers on their back”. She added, “So, when I find stray dogs, stray cats, I check if they have a microchip. If they do, that’s great because usually that means they have a home.”
The ‘Enola Holmes‘ actor added, “If they don’t have one, then I’m able to take them to the shelter, get them registered, and then take them to my rescue where I can microchip them, vaccinate them, and get them into our facility so that we’re able to find them a home.”
Through ‘Joey’s Friends Rescue’, Millie has saved more than 230 dogs so far. She also stays personally involved in the work whenever she can, from finding strays to making sure they get the care they need.
