French actress Léa Seydoux made a bold statement in her recent interview and the internet has got her back. France has not taken the #MeToo movement too seriously but that does not stop the actors from showing their support and standing up for the right thing.
Léa Seydoux is known for her roles in not only French movies but in several Hollywood movies as well. The actress has also appeared in ‘Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol’ alongside Tom Cruise. Seydoux has also been honored with the Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters. Moreover, in 2022, the French government made her a Knight of the Legion of Honour. So let’s take a look at what she has to say.
Léa Seydoux Confronts The French President
The Gérard Depardieu controversy has taken not only France but the world by storm. And in a weekend interview with The Times of London French actress Léa Seydoux pointed out that the president’s comments were not at all good. “So strange. It was crazy. It gives a very bad image of our country. Why say that? It was really something. It’s crazy he said that — the president. Crazy,” said Léa Seydoux.
Léa Seydoux said this in light of President Macron’s comment of being “proud” of Gérard Depardieu. However, Depardieu is awaiting criminal trial for charges of sexual assault of two women on a movie set in 2021. So it is actually crazy that the President showed his support. Fans are also showing their support to Seydoux for this.

More About The Allegations Against Gérard Depardieu
It is very unfortunate that French legendary actor Gérard Depardieu has so many allegations of rape and sexual assault against him. The 75-year-old actor, who has made more than 200 films and television series, is currently awaiting criminal trial. Police questioned him over two women alleging that he assaulted them.
The first woman, a set designer, accused him of groping her “waist and stomach, moving up to (her) breasts” and making obscene comments before his bodyguards removed him. The second woman has alleged Depardieu groped her “all over” and made “inappropriate” remarks. Not only this, Depardieu was also charged with rape in 2020 after actor Charlotte Arnould alleged he raped her in 2018 when she was 22.
