Of late, he has fired the caretaker of the house who refused to redesign the house according to the rapper’s request. And the former manager has filed a lawsuit against the artist.

Kanye West Wants To Redesign His Home To Make It A Bomb Shelter
The rapper Kanye West wanted to convert his Malibu home into a bomb shelter. But the caretaker refused to remove the windows and electricity. Thus he was fired by the artist. It is the Tadao Ando-designed beach house bought by West for $57 million in 2021 that was undergoing this change. To transform the house into a bomb shelter in the 1910s, the artist had a number of ideas. He wanted the marble bathrooms demolished, windows stripped out, no electricity or plumbing, and stairs replaced by slides.
According to The Guardian, the lawsuit filed by Tony Saxon accuses Kanye West of violating the labor code which includes unpaid wages, hazardous working conditions, and wrongful retaliatory termination. Saxon was the rapper’s former project manager and property caretaker. Saxon had thought it to be an ‘art project’ but “clear that, no, he wants to live in here”, he said referring to the rapper. “He only wanted plants. He only wanted candles. And he only wanted battery lights. And he just wanted to have everything open and dark,” Saxon says of the image Ye shared.

Kanye West Ill-Treated The House’s Caretaker Tony Saxon
Tony Saxon had been living at this home in miserable conditions while renovating it. “I was a PRISONER of the house. I couldn’t leave it alone as I was the only one with a key authorized or trusted to live there. And I was trapped I slept on a floor,” the caretaker wrote on Instagram. The post was accompanied by a photo of him on a mattress on the floor and water bottles around it.
Saxon was fired by the ‘Donda‘ rapper, three days after he had complained of a back injury. The artist ordered him to “get the hell out” as Saxon refused to move large generators into the building. The caretaker was also not paid whatever was promised. Saxon was to get paid $20,000 a week but only two payments have been made. And Saxon has been working for two months now. The rapper had shown no concern for the caretaker despite working in these unsafe conditions.
