Jennifer Aniston is a beloved figure in Hollywood not just for her delightful looks and her versatile acting over the years, but also for her candid social media presence. When she first made her appearance on Instagram after much anticipation had set the internet into a frenzy. Since her arrival on the platform, the actress has kept her fans entertained through social media as well.
However, the ‘Friends‘ star recently clarified that though Instagram is her social media platform of choice, TikTok is a bridge too far for her. Here’s why the actress wants to stay at a hand’s distance from one of the most popular social media platforms that several actors use to their advantage.
Here’s Why Jennifer Aniston Prefers To Keep TikTok At An Arm’s Length
Jennifer Aniston was recently speaking with ET’s Deidre Behar, when she expressed her clear aversion to TikTok. “I don’t have TikTok, nor will I ever. I just won’t,” she said, adding, “I’m not gonna subscribe to one more thing that is gonna ruin my life or somebody else’s life.”
Her Instagram debut in 2019 was an instant hit, and her popularity has only grown exponentially and worked to her advantage as an actress. However, Aniston said she maintains a cautious approach to social media, keeping it “at arm’s length” because of its potential to consume valuable time.
“It could suck you in and you’ve wasted hours of your life,” she said. “I can’t believe sometimes when I found myself in an absolute wormhole of dog, puppy videos and rescue animals, and babies, and cats. That’s the stuff I enjoy. But then there’s some stuff online I just don’t wanna see,” Aniston added.
She further noted that the amount of information available on the internet can get overwhelming. “I just don’t think it’s good for us. I don’t think it’s healthy,” the actress said.

Jennifer Aniston also raised concerns about the negative impact of social media on mental health, especially among young people. “It’s so hard to be a teenager these days,” she said, asserting that social media brings in a lot of inferiority complex with everyone comparing their lives with others. She also touched upon some other issues like cyberbullying being prevalent among today’s teenagers.
Further, the ‘Morning Show‘ actress emphasized that the beauty standards on the internet have become unrealistic while most people are just trying to perfect when they are not. “I just think it’s best to just be who you are,” she said.
“We’ve got good days. We’ve got bad days. We have good hair days. We’ve got s**tty hair days. We’ve got good skin days, bad skin days. It’s a mixed bag. It’s also just so unrealistic to try to sell something that doesn’t feel authentic,” the actress added.
Aniston is currently focused on her health as is visible from her Instagram updates. The actress has resorted to Pvolve, a science-led workout method that she credits with transforming her fitness journey. She is giving her fans the right goals to follow.
