Hugh Jackman and Deborah Lee Jackman shared a joint statement with People as they split after 27 years of marriage. “We have been blessed to share almost three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our journey now is shifting, and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth,” the statement said.
The two actors share two kids, Oscar, 23, and Ava, 18. “Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness. We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives,” they added. The statement was signed “Deb and Hugh Jackman.” The couple made it clear that this would be the sole statement either of them would make.

Hugh Jackman and Deborra-lee fell for each other as they worked as co-stars in the Australian TV series ‘Corelli‘ in 1995. Deb was already an established actress when she met Hugh Jackman. And the ‘Logan’ actor admitted in an interview with People in 2017 that he knew he liked her from the very first sight. The two stars married after a year of meeting on April 11, 1996. Eventually, they became one of the most loved and stable couples in Hollywood.
The 54-year-old actor shared a loving note on Instagram for his wife in April as they celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary. “I love you so much. Together we have created a beautiful family. And life. Your laughter, your spirit, generosity, humor, cheekiness, courage, and loyalty is an incredible gift to me,” the post read. The ‘Prisoners’ actor also made a more loving tribute to Deb on her birthday last year.
