Rebel Wilson is sharing her personal story in hopes of sending a positive message to her readers. She has unapologetically revealed in her memoir that she lost her virginity quite late, at the age of 35. She believes that putting this information out in the open would help late bloomers like her to embrace their own journey.

The 44-year-old Australian actress is set for the release of her upcoming memoir ‘Rebel Rising’, set to be released on April 2. Ahead of the release, she is being frank about the details of her life, in hopes that they would reassure young people that there is no set timeline for such a milestone.

People can wait till they’re ready or wait till they’re a bit more mature,” Wilson said. “And I think that could be a positive message. You obviously don’t have to wait until you’re in your thirties like me, but you shouldn’t feel pressure as a young person,” she said.

Wilson also spoke about her teenage years, recalling that she often avoided discussing the topic of virginity because of the embarrassment of still being a virgin. She admitted to fabricating stories to deflect questions.

There was one vague time, I think I told my best friend, ‘Oh, yeah, I just did it to just get it over with when I was like 23,'” Wilson said. “Just to really avoid the questions.”

Normally I would just leave the room when the conversation was happening,” she continued. “And then the people that said, ‘Oh, at 24, it’s so late.’ And then I’m sitting here thinking, ‘Oh my God, my number’s 35. What the hell? I’m going to look like the biggest loser.'”

Rebel Wilson considers herself a “late bloomer” and asserts that is she was 20 years younger when she lost her virginity, her journey of exploring her sexuality would have been different.

It’s absolutely incredible, if I had been born 20 years later, I probably would’ve explored my sexuality more. I just knew I was attracted to men, and that was the normal thing,” Wilson recalled.

And so when I started opening myself up probably more after my father’s death and realizing, oh, even though I’d seen marriage as a terrible thing and waste of time, I started opening myself up to that,” she added.

“And then only years later, meeting women and having feelings for a woman, and that, I just think it’s a sign of where society kind of was.”

Wilson, an openly homosexual celebrity, is now engaged to designer Ramona Agruma, and the couple welcomed her first surrogate child, Royce Lillian, in November 2022.
