Harbour confesses his love for Ryder
In a recent video released on Still Watching Netflix’s YouTube channel, Harbour and Ryder sat down to talk about season four of Stranger Things and some personal stuff where he called Ryder “one of the greatest actors of her generation.”
After working together for so long, Harbour said what many fans knew but were eager to hear from him. He confessed that he has a crush on Ryder, saying: “Professionally, I’ve had a crush on Winona Ryder for a long time. I grew up with her movies. To be let into that world is a dream come true.”
Harbour also added, “At some point, it doesn’t become work, it becomes your life. We spent 7 years inhabiting these characters. And looking into each other’s eyes and being on set for long nights. The weight of that I feel when I’m with her. Because I feel she’s a big part of my life.”
In the show, Harbour plays the role of police chief Jim Hopper, while Ryder portrays Joyce Byers and together fans like to call them Jopper (Joyce and Hopper). Their characters develop feelings for each other in the third season and have a lovely reunion in the fourth season.
When David Harbour Called Ryan Reynolds At His Lowest Point In Career
Harbour has been riding on success since joining Stranger Things. But it hasn’t been a bed of roses for him as his 2019 superhero film Hellboy, where he played the titular role, was a massive box-office dud.
After the film’s failure, Harbour was frustrated and tried to find solace in his friend Ryan Reynolds. He called the Deadpool actor, saying: “I called him and I was like, Hey man, I just need to know something.”
He asked, “You know ‘Green Lantern’? Huge flop for you. What the f*** is that like, because I think I’m going to hit that right now. Am I gonna be okay? Am I gonna survive this?”
According to Harbour, Ryan knew exactly what it felt like and comforted him in a stressful situation.
