    Succession‘ Star Brian Cox never had any doubts about the show reaching its immediate conclusion. He credited Jesse Armstrong and the writing team, saying, “These British writers have discipline and know that a show has a shelf life. Most shows go past their sell by date but Jesse always knew he wanted to finish, although he was terrified about finishing it.

    While Brian Cox may have criticized his co-star Jeremy Strong’s approach to acting, he still holds him in high regard. He revealed that his favorite episode of ‘Succession‘ involves Jeremy Strong’s character. The Scottish actor told the audience that the episode he relishes the most is where Kendall (Strong’s character) decides to double-cross his father, Logan.

    Jesse Armstrong had started planning the show’s end in the second season. He announced that ‘Succession‘ was coming to an end last month. While most cast members and crew are understandably upset, Brian Cox is siding with the decision of the show’s creator and writers. 

    Casey Bloys, the HBO and HBO Max chairman and CEO, wishes things were different. At a panel discussion at Series Mania, he admitted that he would have wanted the show to stay on the air given its success. And while he respects Jesse Armstrong’s decision to quit while he’s ahead, he wouldn’t have minded if he could get two more seasons of ‘Succession.’
