How Did Tobey Maguire And Jennifer Meyer Meet?
Tobey Maguire has always tried to keep his personal life a secret. Many people might not even know that he has been a vegetarian since 1992. Not only this, in 2009, Tobey became a vegan. Coming to his low-key romance life, Tobey met his wife Jennifer Meyer in 2003. She is a jewelry designer by profession born into a Jewish family in California . Her father is quite an influential person who was the vice chairman of NBC Universal. According to rumors, Ronald Meyer, the chairman of Universal Studios, was the one who assisted Maguire in getting his job back after he was let off from the ‘Spider-Man 2′ production in 2003.
Tobey first became acquainted with Meyer while the actor was working on the set of ‘Seabiscuit‘ at Universal Studios. In April 2006, the couple announced their engagement. Why Did The Couple Get Divorced?
Tobey Maguire and Jennifer Meyer announced in a joint statement, “After much soul searching and thought we have taken the choice to split as a couple. As loving parents, we agree that nothing is more important than teaching our kids the value of mutual respect, trust, and friendship.” A friend of the pair told People in 2019 that the couple’s lifestyle differences were causing tension in their relationship. “They’ve been living different lives for a long,” as the insider put it. They were not bonding because their hobbies were too dissimilar.
They insider added that Maguire is more of a homebody, whereas Meyer is more of an adventurer. She’s quite outgoing and has a tonne of girlfriends, whereas he’s very reserved and prefers to stay at home, the person said. While they may not be happy as a couple, they are dedicated parents who care deeply for their kids. In spite of their “no drama” breakup, they continue to be friendly.
Maguire even kept showing up to his ex-wife’s launch events for her jewelry. Meyer said of Tobey in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in 2017, “I don’t know what I would do without him. Lucky me, I got off easy. Even now, he treats me with great kindness.”
Meyer formally petitioned for a divorce in 2020 and requested shared legal and physical custody of their children.
