It wasn’t enough for Tom Cruise to save the cinema with ‘Top Gun: Maverick.’ The American actor continues to push boundaries with the ‘Mission: Impossible’ franchise, outdoing himself with each movie. It’s a pretty packed schedule, but Cruise is not the one to slow down. 

Tom Cruise is, in fact, taking on another project. The 58-year-old actor is said to have partnered with Warner Bros to develop an entirely different franchise. No more details about the project are known, except Cruise is also starring in the new slate of movies.

Tom Cruise is taking on the mammoth responsibility of building another movie franchise. The ‘Jerry Maguire’ star is going to work with Warner Bros on future film projects. Under this partnership, the 61-year-old movie star is going to develop, produce, and star in “original and franchise theatrical films.”

As always, Tom Cruise was all smiles at the announcement. The ‘Edge Of Tomorrow’ star praised his future collaborators, saying, “I have great respect and admiration for David, Pam, Mike, and the entire team at Warner Bros. Discovery and their commitment to movies, movie fans, and the theatrical experience. I look forward to making great movies together!”

The Future Of ‘Mission: Impossible’ Movies

As far as we know, the deal changes nothing. In a conversation with The Sydney Morning Herald, Tom Cruise has explicitly stated his desire to churn out more ‘Mission: Impossible’ films. The actor cited Harrison Ford as a career longevity metric, hoping to work till his 80s.

Tom Cruise’s got a few projects lined up with the Warner Bros. The 61-year-old actor was filming for the eighth ‘Mission: Impossible’ film untill it was called off due to SAG-AFTRA strike. Paramount Pictures has moved the film’s release date to 2025. The ‘Jerry Maguire’ star will be seen in ‘Lunar Park,’ which is going to be filmed in space.
