Taylor Swift and Scooter Braun‘s feud is one of the most dramatic copyright fiascos in the history of music industry. As Swift is now climbing the ladder of fame like never before, her arch-enemy Scooter Braun has announced retirement. And the pop sensation is seemingly taking the chance to take a powerful dig at him.
Taylor Swift brought her Reputation to the forefront during her Eras Tour stop in Cardiff, Wales, on Tuesday night, as she delivered a double dose of diss tracks including ‘I Forgot That You Existed‘ and ‘This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things‘. Swifties were quick to note that the performance came just a day after Scooter Braun announced his retirement as a music manager. Coincidentally, Tuesday also marked Braun’s birthday. Here’s all about another one of the classic Taylor disses.
Taylor Swift Can’t Control Her Laughter As She Sings ‘This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things’
Taylor Swift has a way of elegantly putting her emotions across through her songs, and she has done it again. Just a day after her former music manager and now arch-enemy Scooter Braun announced his retirement, Taylor performed a mashup at her Eras Tour that her fans noted was a dig at him.
During the mashup that Taylor performed acoustically, she burst into laughter at a line from ‘This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things‘ where she sings, “Cause forgiveness is a nice thing to do.” Unlike the original recording’s brief chuckle, Swift couldn’t stop laughing, much to the audience’s delight. She eventually continued with the lyrics, “I can’t even say it with a straight face,” before finishing the song.

Swift didn’t mention Braun during the performances, but her fans are sure that the addition has to do with her ex-music manager and their infamous feud over the rights to her first six albums. Braun’s Ithaca Holdings acquired all the rights to her albums in 2019 and later sold them to Shamrock Holdings. After staunchly opposing it as stealing and yet failing to get the rights back, Taylor re-recorded all her albums to gain ownership.
Since then, the two are each other’s worst enemies in the industry.

Scooter Braun Announces Retirement After 23 Years In The Industry
This, however, was not the first outing for these songs on the Eras Tour, but it was the first time Taylor Swift combined them and sand with such delight. The acoustic set featured one song on guitar and one on piano, a part of Swift’s effort to deliver unique performances at each tour date.
Other than Taylor Swift, Braun also managed top artists like Justin Bieber, Demi Lovato, and Ariana Grande. On Monday he announced that he is stepping back from music management after 23 years. He plans to focus on his role as CEO of HYBE America and spend more time with his family.
In his statement, Braun reflected on his career, saying, “I was really just 19 years old when I started. So for my entire adult life, I played the role of an artist manager on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. And for 20 years I loved it. It’s all I had known.”
“As my children got older, and my personal life took some hits, I came to the realization that my kids were three superstars I wasn’t willing to lose. The sacrifices I was once willing to make I could no longer justify. It was time to step into a new role,” he added.
Meanwhile, Swift continues her Eras Tour, with three shows in London scheduled this weekend.
