Jane Fonda is an American actress, activist, and fashion model. She has gotten many accolades and is considered a film icon. She has received two Academy Awards, two British Academy Film Awards, an Emmy, the AFI Life Achievement Award, the Golden Lion Honorary Award, the Honorary Palme d’Or, and the Cecil B. DeMille Award.
She made her debut in 1960, becoming famous for starring in films including ‘Barbarella’, ‘Nine to Five’ and ‘On Golden Pond’. Her most recent performance was on the Netflix comedy series ‘Grace and Frankie’. As an activist, in the 1960s she vocally opposed the Vietnam War. The 84-year-old actress, in her recent Instagram post, revealed that she has been diagnosed with cancer and is having chemotherapy.

What Is The Cancer Jane Fonda Is Suffering From?
Jane Fonda on her Instagram page, which is followed by 1.9 million followers, revealed that she has been diagnosed with cancer. She has non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, which is a type of cancer that develops in the lymphatic system- the vast network of vessels and glands in the body.
Fonda explained further that the cancer is very treatable and hence she felt very lucky. She added that she felt “lucky because I have health insurance and access to the best doctors and treatment. Almost every family in America has had to deal with cancer at one time or another and far too many don’t have access to the quality health care I am receiving and this is not right.” She also added that her diagnosis has highlighted the importance of community to her.

How Did Her Diagnosis Make Her Highlight The Importance Of Community?
Fonda said, “Cancer is a teacher and I’m paying attention to the lessons it holds for me.” “One thing it’s shown me already is the importance of community,” she added. “Of growing and deepening one’s community so that we are not alone. And the cancer, along with my age – almost 85 – definitely teaches the importance of adapting to new realities.” The actress even after hearing a very disturbing news thinks about others and what she must leave for her progenitors.
Fonda was also a vehement climate activist. She has talked on many platforms about climate change and how people should live to leave something good for the future. She highlighted in her post the same activism. Her words echoed the imminence of change, “We’re living through the most consequential time in human history because what we do or don’t do right now will determine what kind of future there will be and I will not allow cancer to keep me from doing all I can.” Her final words in the post hinted at the elections and what people must do to not make the earth suffer. “The midterms are looming, and they are beyond consequential so you can count on me to be right there together with you as we grow our army of climate champions,” she wrote.
