    ‘Akon’ is a musician, record producer, and businessman who is of Senegalese and American descent. After the release of ‘Locked Up,’ the first single from his debut album ‘Trouble‘, and then ‘Lonely,’ the second single from the album, he came to the forefront of public attention. Akon’s second studio album titled ‘Konvicted‘ was nominated for three Grammy Awards. The categories include Best Contemporary R&B Album and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for ‘Smack That‘. Further, it has ‘I Wanna Love You’ featuring Snoop Dogg. The song ‘Right Now (Na Na Na)’ served as the lead single for his third studio album titled ‘Freedom‘.

    Akon is known for contributing vocals as a featured artist and is presently credited with more than 300 guest appearances. He is also credited to have more than 35 songs that have charted on the Billboard Hot 100. These achievements have earned him five Grammy Award nominations. He is the only solo artist in history to ever hold both the number on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. Akon has had more than ten songs certified as gold and more than ten songs certified as platinum.     Akon’s Plans For The Opening Of ‘Akon City’ In Uganda

    A significant element of Akon’s platform has always been giving back to African communities. In a recent interview, the musician disclosed the first phase of Akon City. The city will be in Senegal and would be opening for living in the year 2026.

    This is despite the fact that the preparations have been disrupted. According to reports, the Black Panther-inspired project, which will cost 6 billion dollars, will be home to the largest hospital.

    The same can be found anywhere on the African continent. Despite having to deal with the aftermath of COVID-19, the singer claims that everything is proceeding as planned. According to a Black Enterprise article, the preliminary blueprints for ‘Akon City’ were shown in the year 2018. Beginning in March 2019, construction on the project got underway. As of now, everything is back on schedule.

    Akon City To Use Smart Cities Gadgets

    According to what Akon has said, the building process won’t begin until 2023. Back in January 2020, he put the finishing touches on the arrangement. Those were the arrangements he had reached with authorities from the Senegalese government to construct Akon City.

    Akon was given a gift of 2,000 square acres of land by the country’s president, Macky Sall. The same was used for the construction of the business.

    Akon City Senegal will use smart cities gadgets, software solutions, user interfaces (UI), and communication networks. Akon City Uganda would likely have futuristic shopping malls, stadiums, and leisure amenities like its sister city 3,000 miles away.

    All About The Multitude Of Districts

    According to the official Akon City website, the project aims to create a business district. It is also planning to have residential districts and high-rise education districts. They will also have a healthcare district, a technology district, a media district, and an entertainment district. The sports facilities will include a recreational enclave for the surrounding area.

    Akon City people will construct the economy using Akoin, which will be their currency. The solar-powered, sustainable city will have colleges, hotels, a stadium, an airport, boating docks, and a food and beverage shop. Plus a 10,000-bed hospital and business tower.

    The first phase would target visitors, insiders stated. Construction will feature hotels and activities for city visitors. Devyne Stephens has filed a lawsuit in the US against Akon for a debt of over 4 million dollars.

    The money was borrowed as part of the process of putting Akon’s futuristic metropolis idea into action. Stephens also remarked that Akon City and Akoin are both involved in a fraudulent enterprise. According to Guinness World Records, he is the most successful musician in terms of sales of master ringtones.
