Emilia Clarke achieved global fame and success with her role of Daenerys Targaryen in HBO’s fantasy series ‘Game of Thrones.’ Its prequel, ‘House of the Dragon‘ was released in 2022 and met with a positive response.

In an interview with Variety, Clarke said does not want to watch the prequel series. “I just can’t do it,” she said. “It’s so weird. It’s so strange.” She said that she is happy with the way the show has been received and all the awards it has to its name.

It’s kind of like someone saying, ‘You want to go to this school reunion that’s not your year? Want to go to that school reunion?’ That’s how it feels. I’m avoiding it,” she explained.

It has also been an award favorite, earning a Best Drama nomination at the 29th Golden Globe Awards. The show, which is based on parts of George R. R. Martin’s ‘Fire & Blood‘ book, has been renewed for a second season.

Miguel Sapochnik and Ryan Condal served as the first season’s showrunners. Sapochnik won an Emmy Award for directing the episode Battle of the Bastards in ‘Game of Thrones.’ However, he left ‘House of the Dragon‘ after the first season.
