DC Comics is a glorious superhero comic publisher with numerous popular IPs such as Superman, Batman, Flash, Wonder Woman, etc. When its competitor, Marvel, stepped foot in the real-action movie in 2008, fans were convinced that DC would do something similar and deliver something same.
Warner Bros., the parent company of DC Comics, started the DCEU in 2013 with Henry Cavill’s Man Of Steel, which was a decent starter film. However, after that, everything was a literal car wreck. From ‘Batman V Superman‘ to ‘Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom‘ only a few projects were liked by the fans.
Now, the director of ‘The Guardians Of The Galaxy’ franchise and ‘The Suicide Squad’, James Gunn has been given the charge to revamp the DC universe. He has already started taking some big steps including changing actors from the DCEU universe.

10. Ezra Miller as Flash
It is a widely accepted fact that Ezra Miller played a great role as the DC’s speedster. He is regarded as the best Flash that fans got to see along with Grant Gustin’s from CW’s ‘Flash’.
However, he is his own worst enemy and took down his career. He has been involved in multiple controversies ranging from assaulting people to running a cult. He was last seen in ‘The Flash’ movie. James Gunn will have to pull a great scouting to find the next Barry Allen.
9. Zachary Levi As Shazam
‘Shazam!’ is among the long list of not-so-good,not-so-bad movies of DCEU. It is a decent watch and many fans like it for what it is supposed to be. One of the reasons for this was Zachary Levi’s performance as the Shazam.
He accurately played a 14-year-old kid in an adult man’s body. Zachary actually looked close to the Shazam that fans have seen in TV Shows and animated series.
8. Aldis Hodge As Hawkman
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s starer ‘Black Adam’ was criticized heavily by the fans. The movie lacked so many things such as a great script, a gripping story, and good character development. However, the movie has many good side-characters who impressed fans and Aldis Hodge’s Hawkman is one of them.
Aldis looked very fitting for his role and did justice to what was given to him. Be it action sequences or dialogue delivery, nothing felt out of place. Fans finally got to see a Thanagar in the live-action after 9 years of waiting.
7. Pierce Brosnan As Doctor Fate
Fans were very excited when Warner Bros. revealed that James Bond would be joining DCEU and that too in a prominent role. Doctor Fate is among the strongest characters in DC comics and Pierce Brosnan played this role fabulously in the underwhelming ‘Black Adam’.
He is one of the main highlights of the movie and owns every scene he is in. Even though his character was killed off in ‘Black Adam‘, fans would like to see Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate.

6. Ray Fisher As Cyborg
The Warner Bros unfortunately wasted Cyborg in the DCEU. Cyborg Actor Ray Fisher had issues with director Joss Whedon and DC Films executive Walter Hamada. This resulted in very limited appearances of Cyborg.
However, even with such limited screen time, Ray Fisher hit the ball out of the park with his performance as Cyborg in ‘Justice League’ and he flourished in Zack Snyder’s cut. Since Cyborg is a somewhat complex character, it will be hard for James Gunn to find someone as good as Ray Fisher.
5. Jason Momoa As Aquaman
DC comic fans know how lame of a character Aquaman is. With his orange and green suit and special power to talk to fish, he was just a laughingstock. However, Jason Momoa just gave a new life to this character.
With a ripped physique, manly appearance and over-the-top performance, Aquaman was revitalized in the DC and fans actually started liking him. The first ‘Aquaman’ movie cemented Jason as the real king of Atlantis.
He also delivered a good performance in ‘Aquaman: The Lost Kingdom’ but the movie was very average. So DC will have to find someone who can now do justice to Jason Momoa’s Aquaman and not fall into the realm of an old friend of fish.
4. Gal Gadot As Wonder Woman
Israeli actress Gal Gadot’s first appearance as the Wonder Woman in the ‘Batman V Superman’ just felt right. She possesses everything expected to be in an Amazonian Princess and plays her perfectly. She also gave Warner Bros. one of the highest-grossing DCEU movies she carried on her shoulder.
Comic book fans highly rate her performances and presence. Thus, whoever is going to replace her in the DCU reboot has huge shoes to fill.
3. Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn
The one thing DCEU fans can agree on is that 2016’s ‘Suicide Squad’ was a major disappointment and no one can defend how bad that movie was. However, this movie introduced Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn to the fans.
Margot Robbie was the perfect casting for Joker’s girlfriend. She also brought the energy the character needed and nailed the role. Fans even claim that she belongs to the list of actors such as Robert Downey Jr., Hugh Jackman, etc. who are just too perfect to replace.
2. Ben Affleck As Batman
DCEU fans initially were kind of critical of Ben Affleck’s Batman but later grew to like him. It was obvious because he was the next Batman after Christian Bale who just set the sealing too high.
Even though Affleck’s Batman didn’t reach those levels, he did a great job as the Caped Crusader. His bulky appearance as Batman reminded fans of what they saw in the popular ‘Batman Arkham’ video game series.
It was kind of WB’s fault too as, despite being the central character of the DC comics, the treatment given to Batman in the DCEU was not good but still Ben Affleck managed to pull the role off. The TV show ‘Reacher’s Alan Ritchson has revealed that he desperately wants to put on the Batsuit but things have to play out perfectly for that to happen.
1. Henry Cavill As Superman
Similar to Ben Affleck’s Batman, Henry Cavill‘s Superman was also wasted, but at least he got the solo movie, which is why fans adore him as Clark Kent. When he appeared in the post-credit scene of ‘Black Adam’ with Superman’s iconic hairstyle, fans went over the moon. But little did they know it was his last appearance.
David Corenswet has already replaced him as Superman and fans will see him in 2025’s ‘Superman: Legacy’. Corenswet will have to deliver a strong performance to match the standard of Henry Cavill.
