The actor behind ’The Batman’, Robert Pattinson, has revealed one of the more bizarre behind-the-scenes routines he acquired during the shoot of the DC film: taking socks from the set back to his home.
And according to the actor, Warner Bros. eventually noticed.
Robert Pattinson’s Entire Sock Drawer Came From ‘The Batman’ Set

In a recent interview, Pattinson joked that he wasn’t really able to steal anything from the production that would not be obvious or feasible. However, one article slipped into his daily attire. “It’s impossible to take anything home from it,” Pattinson said. “I did get a lot of socks. All of my socks are from Batman.”

It’s a hilarious confession, but the story gets better still. The studio eventually got involved after learning that the actor had apparently made sock collecting a daily habit during the year-long shoot. “They kept telling me, ‘It’s fine to have a few, but you take them every day,’” he recalled. “‘How many socks do you need? Because we’ve been shooting for a year.’”
‘The Batman’ Had An Unexpected Budget Problem

It is believed that Pattinson left the set with approximately 156 pairs of shoes. That number makes it less of a “souvenir” and more of a “small retail inventory.”
Later, the actor explained that many of the socks were not even Batman-related, but ‘The Penguin’ merchandise or costume stock.

Of course, fans immediately thought that Pattinson was playing a big joke, but he claimed it was not on purpose. He simply picked up any socks he could find. It’s all so well on-brand for Pattinson, who has a press tour style that’s often more chaotic than dry.
It’s also hard not to imagine some exhausted studio employee slowly realizing Batman’s sock budget had mysteriously exploded over the course of filming.
