After looking far and beyond, James Gunn has locked in his casting for Superman and Lois Lane. David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan are the new faces of James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DCU. The recently leaked story suggested these two were the final six candidates auditioning for one of the most iconic cinematic pairings.
Even with these two crossed off his list, James Gunn’s got work to do. For the part of Lex Luthor, actors and brothers Alexander and Bill Skarsgård are on the short-list. There’s also no word on which members of ‘The Authority’ will make the movie and who will be the actors playing the team members.

According to the leaked stories from The Hollywood Reporter, the casting for ‘Superman: Legacy’ was down to six actors. After months of deliberations and screen tests, David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan have been cast as Superman/Clark Kent and Lois Lane. ‘Superman: Legacy’ Is Going To Skip The Origin Story
Before becoming the co-CEO and chairman of DC Studios, James Gunn was offered a chance to direct a ‘Superman’ movie starring Henry Cavill. However, he rejected it, saying he “didn’t have a way in that felt unique and fun and emotional that gave superman the dignity he deserves.”
With David Corenswet donning the iconic red cape, James Gunn’s ‘Superman: Legacy‘ looks forward to presenting a never-before-seen version of the beloved hero. Gunn’s story centers around Superman’s heritage as a son of Kryptonian rulers and Kansas farmer parents. ‘Superman: Legacy’ has a theatrical release date of July 11, 2025.
