Does The MacLaren’s Pub Exist In New York City?
Just like Central Perk on ‘Friends‘, the MacLaren’s Pub on ‘How I Met Your Mother‘ is an integral part of the show. However, the pub is not real and does not exist in real life in New York. But the idea of MacLaren’s Pub is based on New York City’s McGee’s bar.
You can find McGee’s at 240 W. 55th Street in New York. Creators Craig Thomas and Carter Bays hung out at this bar all the time and it is a very important place for them. Craig and Carter even worked on ‘The Late Show with David Letterman‘ while having beers at this place. Keeping in mind the importance of this place, it was definitely going to make an appearance on the show.
Although MacLaren’s Pub is not real, other places shown on the show are very real. The Corner Bistro exists in real life as well as Paul’s Da Burger Joint. Fans can taste the amazing burgers at Paul’s if they wish to just like their favorite onscreen friends group.

All About ‘How I Met Your Mother’
The epic sitcom started airing on 19 September 2005. Starring Josh Radnor, Jason Segel, Cobie Smulders, Neil Patrick Harris and Alyson Hannigan, the series has a big fan base.
The series focuses on Ted Mosby and his romantic life. An older Ted tells his kids about the adventures of his youth with his friends. He also tells them the story of how he met the love of his life or their mother. As Ted tells the story to his son Luke and daughter Penny, we get to relieve the story from his past. We see a 27-year-old Ted Mosby in New York with his friends Marshall Eriksen, Lily Aldrin, Barney Stinson and Robin Scherbatsky. They hang out at the MacLaren’s Pub and we get to live their hilarious adventures together.
