Both ‘Stranger Things‘ and ‘Deadpool‘ enjoy a strong fan following. Fans of these IPs would be delighted to hear the news of their potential crossover.

On the red carpet of the 74th Emmy Awards, the executive producer and director of Netflix’s flagship series Shawn Levy was asked about the ‘Stranger Things Cinematic Universe‘ by a Variety reporter.

Yes, we are building out the STCU, and now that I’m spending time with [chief creative officer of Marvel Entertainment] Kevin Feige, I’m learning a lot about how to manage a universe,” he said.

Shawn continued, “So I’m taking those skills and applying them to the STCU.” He is also set to direct the third installment of ‘Deadpool.’ When asked about a crossover, this was his response.

Funnily enough, Ryan [Reynolds] and I were trying to figure out how in the world could we do a ‘Deadpool’-‘Stranger Things’ crossover,” Levy said. “We haven’t cracked it yet, but it’s on the table.”

The Duffer Brothers, creators of the show, have started working on the fifth and final installment of ‘Stranger Things.’ The duo had earlier said that they won’t be introducing new characters in the latest season.

We’re doing our best to resist [adding new characters] for Season 5,” Ross Duffer said. “We’re trying not to do that so we can focus on the OG characters, I guess.”

The decision was made after several critics and fans pointed out that the main characters in the recent season were sidelined by new characters like Joseph Quinn’s Eddie who became a fan favorite. But characters like Charlie Heaton’s Jonathan didn’t get enough screen time.

They have also confirmed that the fifth season will not be as long as the fourth one. While there is no official confirmation, the final season might premiere in 2024 or 2025.
