Los Angeles Lakers guard Luka Doncic remains out with a hamstring injury as a key legal development has emerged in his custody case with ex-fiancée Anamaria Goltes.
According to a recent report published by Edward Lewis of The California Post, the initial custody hearing between Dončić and Goltes, which had been scheduled for May 14, has been postponed to August. The case follows a petition filed by Goltes last month seeking child support for the couple’s two daughters after their separation.
The dispute traces back to December, when Dončić traveled to Slovenia to be present for the birth of their second child. During that visit, The Daily Mail reported that Dončić “reportedly begged Goltes” to allow their older daughter to return to Los Angeles with him while they were at the hospital. An argument followed after Goltes declined, and police were called. The situation has since moved into court.

Dončić has not played since April 2 due to a hamstring issue. The Los Angeles Lakers have not issued a formal timeline for his return. The postponement of the hearing has not been officially linked to his injury or playing status.
Lakers move closer to advancing without Luka Doncic

The Lakers have continued their playoff campaign without Luka Dončić, taking a 3-1 lead in their first-round series against the Houston Rockets.
Forward LeBron James has led the team through the opening games of the series. Los Angeles secured three wins despite missing one of its primary ball handlers and scorers. The team now needs one more victory to advance to the second round of the NBA Playoffs.
If the Lakers close out the series, the second round is expected to begin in early May. Dončić’s availability for that stage remains unclear as he continues to recover. No official update has been provided regarding his rehabilitation progress or potential return date.

The Lakers’ current position in the series places them within reach of advancing, but Dončić’s status remains a key factor as the postseason continues.
