Paige Bueckers addressed public speculation about her relationship with Azzi Fudd on Monday, stating that their personal lives are not open for discussion as both begin their time with the Dallas Wings.
Speaking during a press conference, Bueckers said she would comment on the matter once and refer back to her statement if questions arise again during the season.
“Quite frankly, me and Azzi’s personal relationship, is nobody’s business but our own,” Bueckers said. “And what we choose to share is completely up to us. But as media members, I understand you have a job to do, and you guys have to ask questions about the basketball aspect of it.
“Me and Azzi have always been the utmost professional. We’ve always conducted ourselves as such, and we’d never let anything that happens off the court carry onto the court.”
The topic surfaced following Fudd’s introductory media session, when Kevin Sherrington asked whether the pair had consulted other WNBA couples about balancing a relationship while playing together. A team staff member intervened and directed questions back to Fudd’s basketball career.
