With a star-studded cast and an iconic soundtrack, ‘The Bodyguard’ remains a favorite. It stars Whitney Houston as Rachel Marron, a famous actress and singer who is being tormented by an unknown stalker. Played by Kevin Costner, Frank, a Secret Service agent, is hired as a bodyguard to protect her.

Despite coming from totally different worlds, they fall for each other. Their forbidden-love trope, along with the thriller subplot, makes it a compelling watch. Though there was some controversy at the time over an onscreen romance between a Black woman and a white man, Houston and Costner defended their casting and showcased an unforgettable chemistry.
