2022 saw the release of several films across the genres. It was special mainly because of some big theatrical releases that took place after nearly two years of pandemic-induced lockdowns. 10) Firestarter
Hollywood has been adapting the works of Stephen King for years and the results have been hit or miss. This time, unfortunately, it was the latter. The film met with negative reviews and it turned out to be a box-office failure, with many calling it inferior to the 1984 eponymous version.
9) Good Mourning
Machine Gun Kelly might be good at music, but he surely isn’t good at filmmaking. Written and directed by Kelly and Mod Sun, this film is a cringefest filled with usual tropes in the stoner genre. As expected, it was a critical as well as a financial failure.
8) The Bubble
Judd Apatow is a name synonymous with some of the most celebrated comedy flicks in the 21st century. However, it seems that he lost steam with ‘The Bubble.’ The film tries to comment on celebrity life and the pandemic but ends up being boring and totally unfunny.
7) Amsterdam
This was the film that failed everyone’s expectations. There was everything to look forward to in this period comedy, but the screenplay faltered badly. A heavy star cast including names like Christian Bale and Margot Robbie couldn’t carry its lackluster storyline and the film ended up becoming a massive box-office bomb.
6) Redeeming Love
Romance is a tricky genre that only a few films are able to crack. This D.J. Carso’s Christian western flick surely isn’t one of them. Based on the biblical story of Hosea, the film failed to impress either the audience or the critics and turned out to be a commercial failure.
5) Me Time
Kevin Hart and Mark Wahlberg are reliable when it comes to their comic timing. But not always when it comes to choosing films. This trainwreck of a flick is a testament to that which follows a man reuniting with his former best friend. It met with a mostly unfavorable response.
4) Morbius
The story of the making of this superhero film is much more interesting than the film itself. Multiple reshoots and delays resulted in a film that was nothing but a mess. Critics panned every aspect of this film and it eventually became a box-office bomb, dissipating into internet memes.
3) Pinocchio
Not to be confused with Guillermo del Toro’s stop motion animation film, this Robert Zemeckis’ flick mixed live action and animation. The result was something no one liked. Most critics pointed out that it was inferior to previous adaptations and lacked the charm of the 1940 film.
2) The King’s Daughter
This fantasy adventure film was stuck in development hell since 2015. It was originally intended for an April 2015 release but was pushed at the last minute for post-production work. However, everything could have been ignored if the film was good. Highly not recommended for viewing.
1) 365 Days: This Day
The erotic thriller genre is infamous for delivering questionable films from time to time. But none like this one. With a deserving zero percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, this flick is similar to its 2020 predecessor and is boring and appalling in every sense of the world. Avoid it at any cost.
