Monica Rambeau‘s omission from the official ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ cast list has caused some confusion, particularly as Marvel seems to be holding onto some secret characters. Her absence may mean that she wasn’t included in the film. However, there’s a good reason to think that Marvel could be holding her for a big third-act surprise.
Monica Could Become Crucial To Doom’s Multiverse

Monica is one of the most uniquely powered heroes in the MCU. After ‘The Marvels’, she was trapped in another universe, and her story was left at a fascinating juncture. If ‘Doomsday’ is really about a multiversal crisis, then it makes sense to have her return.

If Doctor Doom’s plans are to be believed, the MCU’s already fragile reality could be plunged into complete chaos as incursions and unstable universes would be the main battlegrounds of the fight. That’s the type of situation where Monica’s powers can suddenly become very useful.
She can interact with and manipulate electromagnetic energy, allowing her to do things that most heroes can’t. Most significantly, her relationship with the multiverse allows Marvel to easily return her without making her return seem arbitrary.
The heroes desperately try to prevent reality from falling apart, only to find Monica when they need her the most. That would make her return worthwhile and also make sense.
A Reunion With Binary Could Be Huge

There’s another option that could make her return even more thrilling. If Monica joins Binary and somehow gets involved with the Quantum Bands, Marvel could potentially make her a big part of the final battle.

Carol Danvers’ Binary persona represents her connection to immense cosmic energy, and bringing that identity into ‘Doomsday’ could create a powerful reunion between Carol and Monica. If the movie is heading toward a massive multiversal crisis, seeing Binary alongside Monica could give both characters a much bigger role in the MCU’s next chapter.
But none of this proves that Monica is in ‘Doomsday’. However, Marvel has become increasingly comfortable hiding major surprises until the last possible moment. And honestly, if Monica suddenly arrives when the multiverse is collapsing, the audience reaction could be enormous.
