Two of Daredevil‘s most formidable foes, and one of his most complex relationships, are coming to a terrifying conclusion. Matt Murdock and Bullseye are no longer enemies in ‘Marvel Zombies: War Zone’. The two iconic characters have become undead threats working on the same side, creating a nightmare for anyone unfortunate enough to cross their path.

The terror of this team-up lies in the power that they possess together. Daredevil’s heightened senses let him know when enemies are nearby even when they think they’re in the clear, while Bullseye can turn just about anything into a weapon of destruction. Combined, they might make it nearly impossible to get out of Hell’s Kitchen.

The comic also assigns new names to the zombified characters, which are controlled by the Hand’s formidable leader, Gorgon. Daredevil becomes the Devil, and Bullseye is the Assassin. They have a sinister expression, and their eyes glow green, giving them another layer of horror, which is typically not associated with street-level crime and brutal martial arts.

The idea of these two working together is even more terrifying than them being rivals. Their animosity is always a part of what makes their interactions interesting, but the zombie epidemic has now put it on the back burner, and something far more sinister has taken its place.

Things only get worse in ‘Marvel Zombies: War Zone #3’, which will be available on November 25, 2026. Frank Castle and Luke Cage will be tasked with uncovering the cause of the outbreak and trying to hold on to their lives in an ever more dangerous city.

The story will also feature Elektra, making her a part of the conflict and possibly forcing her and Punisher to come together. Zombie Spider-Man and Zombie Moon Knight are set to be featured in the next issue, so the stakes are only increasing as Marvel goes.

The series is proving that even heroes and villains who usually operate on a smaller scale can become terrifying threats when the zombie apocalypse takes hold.
