Did Scarlet Witch Never Die? Wild MCU Theory Links Wanda Maximoff To Doctor Doom In The MCU

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is no stranger to plot twists and shocking revelations. However, a new fan theory has taken the conversation to an entirely new level. Could Scarlet Witch, believed to have sacrificed herself in ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’, actually still be alive?

And if so, could she be connected to one of Marvel’s most iconic villains, Doctor Doom? Let’s dive into this wild speculation and examine how it could reshape the MCU’s Multiverse Saga.

How The Theory Explains Robert Downey Jr.’s Casting As Doctor Doom

Marvel fans were stunned when it was revealed that Robert Downey Jr. would return to the MCU, not as Iron Man, but as Doctor Doom. While some found this casting choice perplexing, a theory from Comicodigy offers a compelling explanation. According to this speculation, Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom could be a variant that was pruned by the Time Variance Authority and sent to the Void at the End of Time.

The Void, first introduced in ‘Loki’ season one, is a dumping ground for everything pruned by the TVA. It’s also where pruned variants sometimes find ways to escape or carve out their own survival strategies. ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ has already expanded the lore of the Void. Moreover, it showcases it as a chaotic hub for displaced characters and artifacts.

In this theory, Doctor Doom may have been pruned after diverging too far from his intended path. Upon arriving in the Void, he could have made a deal similar to Cassandra Nova’s. Moreover, this could set the stage for a Doom-Saga like no other, and potentially, for an unexpected alliance.

The supposed death of Wanda Maximoff in ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ was a heartbreaking moment for fans. However, this new theory suggests that Wanda didn’t die. Instead, she pruned herself when she destroyed Mount Wundagore and the Darkhold across the multiverse.

This could mean that Wanda was sent to the Void, opening the door for her return to the MCU. Hints supporting this theory have already surfaced. In ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’, fans noticed a statue resembling the one carved into Mount Wundagore’s Darkhold Castle adorning the Resistance team’s hideout.

If artifacts from the Darkhold Castle ended up in the Void, it’s not far-fetched to believe that Wanda herself may be there as well. However, the mystery behind the statue was recently debunked. Moreover, in this scenario, Wanda’s time in the Void could lead her to meet Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom.

Both characters, just like in the comics, might find common ground as they work together to escape their prison. However, this theory provides a seamless way to bring Wanda Maximoff back into the fold. Wanda’s arc has been one of pain and redemption. So, her partnership with Doom could represent a fascinating next step in her journey.
