‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ might be one of Marvel Studios’ most ambitious villain stories ever. While Doctor Doom is definitely the mastermind behind the multiversal war, Marvel may be quietly preparing a bigger roster of threats based on the comics.
Doctor Doom Could Have an Entire Army Behind Him
If the theories are correct, Doom, Ultron, Galactus, and the Void may all play very different roles in the battle for Battleworld. That would enable Marvel to steal some concepts from ‘Secret Wars‘ (2015) and repurpose them in the MCU’s narrative.

Of course, Doctor Doom would be in the middle of all the action. Doom could not only battle the Avengers directly, but also take control of Battleworld and deploy other strong entities as weapons, sentinels, or other threats.
One of the most intriguing options is Ultron. Even if Ultron is damaged or defeated, he can be revived and re-programmed by Doom, making him his right-hand man in the form of a mechanical being. Doom could then have Ultron build an army to patrol Battleworld and wipe out threats.
The Void might also be another deadly weapon in Doom’s arsenal. If Sentry goes into a catastrophic mental breakdown after the events of ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, the Void might return. Doom may not destroy it, but rather capture and manipulate it. Doom wouldn’t necessarily have to trust the Void. He would only have to have faith that he can keep it in check.
Galactus Could Make Battleworld Even More Dangerous
Then there’s Galactus. The cosmic entity might be able to sense the vast amount of energy that Battleworld was producing and come to eat it. Alternatively, Galactus is introduced to the conflict by the Beyonder, similar to how he was in Marvel’s comics.

These are all possibilities inspired by the 2015 ‘Secret Wars’ storyline. Battleworld is ruled by Doom, Ultron is resurrected and turned to a new purpose, and Galactus gets involved in the huge multiversal war.
Marvel doesn’t have to be faithful to the comic word-for-word. In fact, the MCU’s Secret Wars could feel new and exciting, without sacrificing the fun for longtime fans. And, Doctor Doom controlling Ultron and maybe even facing Galactus is just what ‘Secret Wars’ should be about.
