If these alleged ‘Avengers: Doomsday‘ details are accurate, Marvel may be giving Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man one of the strangest and most unexpected upgrades in the character’s history.
‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Leak Claims Tobey’s Spider-Man Gets A Venom Symbiote Suit
The reported spoiler reveals that Tobey’s Spider-Man will be seen early in the film wearing the Iron Spider suit. But that suit doesn’t last long, as Magneto is said to destroy it when he engages in a confrontation with them. The rest of the story is what makes it interesting.

Tobey reportedly turns to the Venom symbiote, bringing the character’s history from ‘Spider-Man 3’ back into the story. The connection would apparently pay off the small piece of symbiote that remained with Dr. Curt Connors after Peter separated himself from it.
If you’ve been waiting years to see Tobey’s dangling thread come back into play, it would be a pretty wild payoff to see him reunited with the symbiote. When Deadpool and Wolverine join the fray, the reported storyline becomes even more bizarre.
Initially, the two heroes are apparently unable to match Tobey’s symbiote-enhanced Spider-Man. That makes sense, given the Venom suit’s already impressive abilities and how dangerous they can be when combined with Peter’s.
Deadpool and Wolverine do eventually find a way to fend off the symbiote. Their answer is to make a loud sound by rubbing Wolverine’s Adamantium, taking advantage of the Achilles heel that all symbiotes share. It’s a strangely specific solution, but that’s also why it feels like it could be a part of a memorable Marvel action sequence.
Other Spider-Man Villains May Only Exist On Storyboards
There are also some other familiar characters that are rumored to be included: Iceman, Doctor Octopus, and Green Goblin. There is a caveat, however. The claim is that these characters were only seen in draft storyboard animations and were never actually filmed in live action.

That means fans shouldn’t necessarily expect Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus or Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin to appear on screen. But even the idea of Tobey’s Spider-Man taking on Magneto before he unleashes the Venom symbiote is enough to make this supposed opening sound utterly crazy.
If Marvel really goes this route, ‘Doomsday’ could give Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man one final, unforgettable chapter.
