Previously Marvel Studios confirmed their dark Avengers movie, ‘Thunderbolts’. The character of Bucky Barnes appearing in the same movie, first appeared in 2011’s ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’ as Captain America‘s friend and he has reprised the role over ten times in the Marvel Universe.
During the last Marvel big movies, ‘Infinity War’ and ‘Endgame’ his character wasn’t given much justice compared to his powers and potential. The character was overlooked much. But now as the Marvel Universe is trying to bring the old Marvel elements back, there is a possibility that Bucky might take up a role in ‘Avengers 5’ as well.
‘Avengers 5′ Can Fix Marvel’s Mistake Of Overlooking Bucky Barnes
Bucky Barnes played by Sebastian Stan is one the most engaging characters in the MCU. He has had a great impact on the Avengers in many movies. He first served as Captain America’s best friend and later became his most tragic enemy. Bucky killed Iron Man’s parents, shot Black Widow, and was responsible for breaking up the Avengers during the ‘Captain America: Civil War’.
Still, his character was neglected much in main Marvel movies including ‘Infinity War’ and ‘Endgame’. But he proved himself to be worthy enough to be part of the Avengers. He returned as Steve Rogers’s friend and helped Sam Wilson. He made up for his past mistakes and has shown a good interest in following the Avengers for their cause.
Marvel Phase 4 has already given us heroes with Tragic pasts including The Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) in WandaVision, and Spider-Man (Tom Holland) who tried to kill The Green Goblin (Willem Dafoe). Bucky too has past trauma that could also act as an aid to the characters in the following Avengers movie as he knows how it feels to be isolated.

Will Bucky Return In ‘Avengers 5’?
While Bucky gets ready for his role in ‘Thunderbolts’, there are possibilities that his character might appear in ‘Avengers 5′ as well. There are many unresolved Bucky and Marvel plots, hence it would be wrong to discontinue a character like him.
He can work as an asset to the team in ‘Avengers 5’ with his skills. This might provide an opportunity for Bucky Barnes to develop as a character and prove himself. Sebastian Stan aka Bucky could also take up other characters to play in the Avengers other than Bucky.
He could team up with the other superheroes including Shang-Chi, Ms. Marvel, and even Blade. He is the kind of character who has a lot of potential from the old Avengers squad. Bucky Barnes is the most complicated and tragic figure among the Avengers. It might be interesting to see his development as a character in the new phase of Marvel.
All of these are just mere conspiracies. There is no such official announcement from Marvels or Sebastian Stan yet.
