Tom Hiddleston Becomes First MCU Actor To Produce And Star In Two Marvel Studios Productions

The British actor Tom Hiddleston has embodied the character of Loki with utmost perfection, so much so that it is now difficult to even imagine some other actor in the place of Hiddleston. It was in 2011 that he was introduced as the Asgardian God of Mischief, the adopted son of Odin.

After delivering decades of dedicated performance, Hiddleston finally made history. From just a mere ancillary character to getting an individual series, Hiddleston’s journey as Loki was quite an excruciating one. Now he is expanding his horizons in the Marvel universe.

Tom Hiddleston recently made history with his role as a producer on season two of ‘Loki‘. He is the first MCU star to have produced two Marvel Studios productions as well as star in them. The history-making does not stop here, as ‘Loki’ also made history with a new director choice.

Although there are other actors-producers in Marvel like Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Oscar Isaac, and Chris Hemsworth, the only criterion that makes Hiddleston stand out is the second season, whereas the other actors acted and produced only one season.

Dan Deleeuw discussed how both he and Ke Huy Quan who was part of the second season were surprised by Tom Hiddleston’s approach on rehearsing the script. In an interview with Variety, the director shared the unique approach of rehearsing that was followed on the sets.

The ‘Loki’ director said, “As the scripts were getting closer to being done, we would invite all the directors to come in for their different episodes. All the actors would come in. The writers are there. And we had a week-and-a-half, two weeks where we went through every single script, and just rehearsed them and played with them and made them better.”

Dan Deleeuw admired the creative process that engaged the actors as well as writers to help the scene come to life.
