As Disney is set to have many exciting projects in the works, but ‘TRON: Ares’ is the one to bet on. The franchise already has a huge fanbase and the latest production will bring it back after more than 14 years.
‘Tron: Legacy’ was the first part of the franchise, released in 2010. The sequel ‘Tron: Ares’ is now in the news as it is all set to release next year. With the original Tron series released four decades back, the anticipation over its upcoming installment is pretty high. Disney is seemingly well-aware of this. Here’s what the studio said about it.

Disney Has More Ideas For ‘TRON’ Films
As ‘TRON: Ares’, produced by Walt Disney Pictures and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, is said to be in the works for a release in 2025, the studio is almost certain it would be a huge success.
While speaking with The Disinsider recently, the studio said, “Disney is banking on Tron: Ares to be a massive success because they have ideas lined up for movies. One person I spoke with who was on set says this will be huge and blow audiences away. As for Tron: Uprising, I do not believe there are plans to revisit that.”
Disney also hinted at having more ideas lined up for movies succeeding ‘TRON: Ares’. Fans are more than thrilled to see what the upcoming movie entails, as well the prospects for a potential next installment it brings forth.

‘TRON: Ares’ Boasts An Impressive Cast With Jared Leto In The Lead Role
Although not a lot has been revealed about the cast, fans are super stoked to know that they’d be seeing Jared Leto as the leading man in the upcoming film ‘TRON: Ares‘.
Jared Leto will be seen playing Ares, while Jeff Bridges will take up the role of Kevin Flynn. Other actors such as Sarah Desjardins, Cameron Monaghan, Evan Peters, Greta Lee, and Gillian Anderson among others are also the notable celebrities cast in the film, though their characters haven’t been revealed yet.
‘TRON: Ares’ is scheduled to be released theatrically on October 10, 2025.
