Johnny Depp is one of the most sought-after celebrities in the entertainment industry. He is recognized for his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in an American fantasy supernatural swashbuckler film series, which started in 2003.
‘The Pirates of the Caribbean‘ franchise ranks in the 16th spot of the highest-grossing film series of all time. After the legal battle with his ex-wife, Amber Heard, the rumors went viral that Johnny Depp would reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow.
Fan Made Poster Imagines Johnny Depp As Captain Jack Sparrow
Johnny Depp has become the reflection of Captain Jack Sparrow, and the audience was disappointed when Depp was almost boycotted by Hollywood and dropped from the franchise following the allegation of domestic abuse by Amber Heard and the case of defamation in 2018. The court proceedings led to Depp losing multiple contracts with various companies including the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ franchise.
However, the fans did not give up hope of Johnny Depp returning as Captain Jack Sparrow. A fan-made poster went viral in which Depp is seen as Captain Jack Sparrow for the upcoming film ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Jack’s Revenge’. The poster also revealed that the film is set to be released in December 2024. The film was described as “Witness Jack Sparrow’s relentless pursuit as he seeks vengeance against the Crown for the slaughter of his crew, including Gibbs. In a darker twist, join Jack as he sets sail to dismantle the governors one by one, leaving them plundered and shattered.”

Will Depp Return To ‘The Pirates Of The Caribbean’ Franchise?
Although the fans loved Johnny Depp in the pirate costume, Disney decided to drop the actor from the future ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ projects, which reportedly are in development for a sixth film. Disney’s decision reportedly came from the fear his reputation may tarnish the family-friendly nature of the franchise. Depp was also let go from Warner Bros.’ ‘Fantastic Beasts’ franchise for a similar reason.
During his stand in Depp’s defamation case against Amber Heard, he clearly stated that he had no interest in returning to the franchise, especially due to his strained relationship with Disney.
