Woodall was only five years old when the first installment in the franchise, ‘The Fellowship of the Ring,’ was released. Like many fans, he grew up watching the films, which clearly left a lasting impression on him. “I watched it as a kid, and I’ve seen it a million times, so to be part of it now is incredible,” he added.

However, when asked about the movie itself, Woodall remained tight-lipped. He admitted that he “can’t tease anything” about the project, which is hardly surprising for a blockbuster of this scale. So, for now, fans can only hope and wait for December 17, 2027, when ‘The Lord Of The Rings: The Hunt For Gollum’ is set to hit the theatres.

Leo Woodall’s role in ‘The Lord Of The Rings: The Hunt for Gollum’ is his first leading role in a blockbuster film. His casting was first announced by Warner Bros. at CinemaCon in April, alongside Jamie Dornan.

Woodall will portray the role of Halvard, a Dúnedain character who was not present in J.R.R. Tolkien’s original books. He will be joined by Kate Winslet, Andy Serkis, Elijah Wood, Ian McKellen, and Lee Pace, among others.

The film is set between ‘The Hobbit’ and ‘The Fellowship of the Ring.’ The story follows Aragorn’s dangerous mission to track down Gollum before he can reveal the location of the One Ring to Sauron. After looking at the plot, it is clear that the creators are focusing on briefly mentioned stories, appendices, and footnotes from Tolkien’s work and expanding upon them. So, the anticipation for this film is at an all-time high.

Woodall’s breakout performances came with ‘Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy’ and ‘The White Lotus’. He has most recently appeared in the heist thriller ‘Tuner’. While talking with IndieWire, he revealed that he wants to build a career that really lasts. Now, with an iconic franchise and many cinema legends involved, this will be Woodall’s moment to make his dream come true.
