Cailee Spaeny recently blew minds with her performance of Elvis Presley’s wife, Priscilla Presley as she starred in the titular film that explored the life of Elvis Presley’s lifelong partner. While many criticized the film’s depiction of Presley, many also lauded the actors for bringing light to the couple’s problematic relationship. In the film, Jacob Elordi played the role of Elvis while Spaeny shined as the much younger Spaeny.

How Did Kirsten Dunst Help Cailee Spaeny Get The Role Of Priscilla?
The actresses, who had previously worked together in ‘Civil War’ seemed to share a deeper bond of friendship than many thought as Cailee Spaeny reveals that Kirsten Dunst was the person who personally recommended director Sofia Coppola to take Cailee for the film.
Spaeny revealed that Dunst burst into tears when she found out that she was cast as Priscilla. “So I got to tell her that I got the role and she burst into tears and gave me a massive hug. It was a really special, magical, kismet moment,” Spaeny said.
“I cried because I was also encouraging Sofia, because I was working with Cailee and I said, ‘I loved working with her,’ and I knew they would work well together,” Kirsten added, “So I was a supportive friend.”
Based on the true story of Priscilla Presley’s 1985 novel ‘Elvis and Me‘, the film chronicles the iconic love and marriage between Elvis Presley and Priscilla Presley. The film became a breakthrough moment in Spaeny’s life as her role was lauded by many.

The film was said to be a spectacular watch by many as viewers applauded Cailee Spaeny for getting into the shows of Priscilla Presley and marvelously depicting the relationship between her and Elordi’s Elvis, who was way too many years her senior. Many also called the film an uncomfortable watch because of the age gap, but the majority of the film was inspired by true events.
A lot of people also criticized the film for apparently defaming Elvis by showing his darker side. Directed by Sofia Coppola, the film received extremely positive reviews from most sites and reviewers, giving Coppola one of the breakthrough moments of her career.
