The ‘Spider-Man’ films introduced us to strange characters that became the main antagonists following some accidental situations. This includes Venom who was introduced in ‘Spider-Man 3.’ When ‘Spider-Man 4’ was canceled by Sony, it led to two reboots including one in the MCU.
After years of being in development hell, a standalone film based on Venom was released in 2018. ‘Venom’ emerged as a commercial success despite receiving negative reviews and it led to a sequel, ‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage’, which was released in 2021 to better critical reception. A third film has been already confirmed. So, let’s check all the details about the upcoming sequel.
‘Venom 3’: Plot Details
Although the producers are silent regarding anything about the plot for ‘Venom 3’, we can be assured that we would get to witness Eddie Brock confronting another villain like in the first two films. While we got the opportunity to watch Riot and Carnage, the third film will possibly introduce another villainous symbiote.
During the mid-credits scene of the second film, Eddie and Venom were transported to another timeline and they were watching the news report of Spider-Man’s identity being revealed to the world. The symbiote noted that this is a result of multiple realities and this suggests that the concept of a multiverse might be explored in the third film.
While Venom has been termed as one of the biggest enemies of Spider-Man in the comics, we should get to see the duo together on screen. Addressing the possibilities of the multiverse being featured in ‘Venom 3’, director Andy Serkis said that it might not happen in the film but instead, it will happen in some other project.

‘Venom 3’: Cast And Release Date
Tom Hardy, who portrayed Eddie Brock in the first two films confirmed on February 22, 2023, that the third film has entered pre-production. He posted a video on Instagram that featured behind-the-scenes from the previous film.
Anticipation for the third film has increased ever since Brock appeared in the post-credits scene of ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’, hinting about his debut in the MCU. However, nothing has been officially confirmed. Considering that this is a project that will involve the best visual effects, it should release by the end of 2024.
‘Venom 3’ is impossible without Tom Hardy and so he is confirmed to reprise the lead role. We can also expect Michelle Williams, Reid Scott and Stephen Graham to return.
