Her dating life, however, has also been in the buzz after her breakup as rumors suggested she is now dating a much younger British actor. The singer, however, has a different take on her dating plans. Here’s what Shakira has to say about her romantic life and why she thinks liking men is a problem for her.
Shakira Isn’t Really Looking To Date Right Now
Despite rumors ensuing that she has started dating again, Shakira says she doesn’t have any space for a man in her life right now as she continues to work through life after separation. The 47-year-old songstress, talking to Rolling Stone said, “What can I tell you, I like men. That’s the problem. I shouldn’t like them with everything that’s happened to me, but imagine how much I like men that I still like them,” she joked before adding, “But having a formal relationship, I think my kids would have to be very prepared for that, and their emotional and psychological well-being is the priority.”
She then talked about how her sole focus is now on being independent as she continued, “I’m so much less fragile than I thought. I was always so scared of pain because I thought I wouldn’t survive it. Through this process, I became stronger than I thought I was. I became a more independent person, one who doesn’t rely on anyone but herself and her wolf pack.”

Is The Singer Planning To Release New Music Soon?
Her last album ‘Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran‘ opened to positive reviews in March and she credits her singlehood as being the biggest factor on why she could work on new music in the first place. “I’ve been putting out music here and there, but it was really hard for me to put together a body of work” she said, adding, “I didn’t have time. It was the husband-factor. Now I’m husband-less. Yeah, the husband was dragging me down. Now I’m free. Now I can actually work.”
As of now, there haven’t been any talks of her working on more music.
