Megan Thee Stallion Gets In Trouble With Kanka Family For Using ‘Megan’s Law’ Bar In ‘Hiss’

A new rap beef has emerged on the horizon! Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion have turned from friends into foes. The once idolized rap artist became the center of the new Diss track for Megan. The rap beef is heating up between Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion! Recently, Megan’s diss track ‘Hiss’ has been gaining a lot of traction due to its context, where the rapper is taking shots at Nicki Minaj’s brother and husband. One verse that has created ripples on the internet is, “These h*** don’t be mad at Megan, these h*** mad at Megan’s Law.”

Megan’s Law has become a federal law in the US, which requires it to “release relevant information to protect the public from sexually violent offenders.” It was first enacted in 1996 during the case of Megan Kanka, a 7-year-old girl who was kidnapped, sexually assaulted, and murdered by a sex offender living across the street from their house in New Jersey.

As per the law, offenders have to register with various government organizations and each jurisdiction where they reside.

Nicki Minaj’s brother, Jelani Maraj, was convicted of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl, for which he was sentenced to 25 years of imprisonment. Her husband is also a sex offender who failed to register himself as a sex offender in California. Now, due to the usage of her daughter’s name, Megan’s father, Richard Kanka, has taken offense over the rapper’s verse.

Richard Kanka, Megan’s father, talked to TMZ about his reaction to Megan Thee Stallion’s explicit song, which makes a reference to his deceased daughter’s name. He has found the reference disrespectful, and even though Megan shed a light on the law, it does not change his feelings towards the song.

Richard said that he found the song after one of his children told him about it. He has not listened to the song yet, but after reading the lyrics of ‘Hiss’, he feels that “using his daughter’s name in such a graphic/offensive manner was highly offensive for the pain his daughter and family felt.” Kanka also told the outlet that he may consider looking for legal options.
