Taylor Swift has just added a new achievement to her list of records by breaking one of Kanye West’s decades-long streak. Swift whose ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ happened to be one of the biggest hits of her career, just got a new triumph as her album completed 14 weeks on the top spot.
Swift was previously facing the possibility of dropping from the spot as Kanye released the sequel of his album ‘Vultures’. But she came out stronger and defeated Kanye. Here’s how her album ended up breaking one of West’s 11-year-long streak of success.
Taylor Swift Breaks Kanye West’s Streak
Being one of the biggest names in rap, Kanye West has made sure to occupy the top spot of the charts every time he has released an album. For eleven consecutive albums, West managed to dominate the top spot, regardless of whoever happened to release albums at that time. This time, however, Taylor Swift’s ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ happened to break that streak.
Ye’s album debuted at No. 2, in contrast to all his previous albums debuting at No. 1 Ironically, Swift’s album happens to now be the longest-running No. 1 album, getting ahead of Adele, who previously held that record with her album ‘21’.
Originally meant to be released in March, West’s ‘Vultures 2’ was released earlier this month and featured artists like Lil Wayne, Don Toliver, Kodak Black, Future, and Playboi Carti on the album.
Moreover, Swift has survived almost every album that has been released after ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ although many have called her out for releasing multiple variants of songs to achieve this feat.

Taylor Swift And Kanye West’s Musical Feud
Kanye West has added new layers to his feud with Taylor Swift by mentioning the pop star and her boyfriend Travis Kelce. In a portion of the song, West sings, “I twist my Taylor spliffs tight at the end like Travis Kelce.”
The lyrics sparked an intense backlash among both fandoms, with everyone calling out West for holding onto the feud and starting unnecessary drama. This little addition didn’t go unnoticed by Kelce’s father – Ed Kelce who posted a comment under one such post, addressing the mention and wrote, “Mental illness on full display.”
