‘Bridgerton‘ is an American historical-romance television series based on Julia Quinn’s novels. Two seasons of the show are currently streaming on Netflix. It is adapted for Netflix by Shonda Rhimes’ Shondaland Productions. The show mainly follows the Bridgerton siblings. It is set in Regency England’s high society where these brothers and sisters seek their marriage matches. Both seasons have been a huge success so far and we can already assume the same for the third season.
The first season followed eldest daughter Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) and her unexpected connection with Simon Basset, Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page) who changed her perspective on marriage. In the second season, we met the eldest brother Anthony (Jonathan Bailey), and witnessed his perfect enemies-to-lovers romance with Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley). The stakes are really high after the benchmark set by the two previous seasons. Here is everything you need to know from the cast to the release date of the show’s upcoming season.

‘Bridgerton’ Season 3 Release Date And Expected Plot
It was confirmed by Netflix that the next installment of the show is rolling. Although, they have not provided us with a date yet. The release of season 2 took over a year after season 1 premiered. However, we cannot ignore COVID during those times which definitely slowed production. It is possible that this time the season drops out much sooner, sometime in early 2023.
People kind of guessed by the ending of the last season that season 3 will focus on Penelope or Lady Whistledown. Netflix released an official synopsis confirming this. A part of their synopsis read, “Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) has finally given up on her long-held crush on Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) after hearing his disparaging words about her last season. She has, however, decided it’s time to take a husband, preferably one who will provide her with enough independence to continue her double life as Lady Whistledown, far away from her mother and sisters. “

Which Actors From The Cast Are Returning?
The season 2 favorite Simone Ashley and Jonathan Bailey have fortunately confirmed their return. Ashley told Deadline that both she and Bailey are going to be back. “We’re going to be back! Kate and Anthony are just getting started,” she said, adding, “I’d like to see Kate just let go a bit more and play more in season 3 and kind of swim in that circle of love together. I think they both deserve it.”
However, we still won’t get to see our favorite Duke. Eloise, Colin, Benedict, and other supporting members will be returning as well. Jessie revealed she has every intention to play Eloise “for as long as they’ll let me. I’ll happily be doing this way into my 40s.” As for the new additions, Hannah Dodd will play the role of Francesca Bridgerton instead of Ruby Stokes in season 3. Other new additions to season 3 are Daniel Francis as Marcus Anderson; Sam Phillips as Lord Debling; and James Phoon as Harry Dankworth.
