The season will likely bypass Benedict to delve into Penelope and Colin’s tale. One of the chief actors on the show, Nicola Coughlan, recently revealed that the duo’s friendship is crucial to the ‘Bridgerton’ storyline and will be “one of the most important love stories in the whole Bridgerton series.” While fans wait to witness it on their screens, Netflix has a surprise for them.

The new season is set to release in 2024. It is in line with Netflix’s modus operandi of splitting a major series into two halves. The first four episodes of the show will hit the screens on May 16, while the final four will follow almost a month later on June 13.
Creator Chris Van Dusen has passed the baton of being the showrunner to Jess Brownell. Under this new supervision, season three will center around the romance between Penelope Featherington played by Nicola Coughlan, and Colin Bridgerton played by Luke Newton.
