Netflix has a variety of content in the catalog for the spooky season, but it will have something for the lovestruck beings. The platform will release the adaptation of Tembi Locke’s ‘From Scratch: A Memoir of Love, Sicily, and Finding Home’. It is titled ‘From Scratch’. The book was a New York Times bestseller, and now the story will unfold on screens as a limited series.

Cast And Plot Of ‘From Scratch’
The trailer begins with the voice of the protagonist, Lino saying, “In dreams, as in love, all is possible.” Then the camera takes us to the exquisite art and streets of Sicily in Italy. In the city, a Texas resident, Amy Wheeler, a law student arrives. The summer takes her to Italy to explore Renaissance art due to her passion for it! In a city and culture different from hers, she meets an individual who feels at home and oozes warmth. That man is Lino, a chef in the city. At one point in the trailer, Amy says, “I came here to experience art, to try things I may never get to again in my life.”
It is that experience of bumping into the man who becomes her home and love, a story “for ages”. Together, the two get lost and infatuated with food, art, and each other. In this journey, they savor cross-world cultures, the power of love, family, friendship, and most importantly the power of togetherness. The two falter while walking through life, but the two find refuge in each other.
Zoe SaldaƱa plays the role of Amy. She has done a lot of work in the sci-fi genre including the mega-hit ‘Avatar’. The actress had the most enduring story of how Reese Witherspoon chose her.
She told PEOPLE, “We were at dinner with our partners and some common friends. And I guess she saw the dynamic between my husband [Marco] and I, and then called me up the next day or a week later to tell me that her company, they had read this book, and it was going to be a part of their club.” The sweet and suave Lino is played by Eugenio Mastrandrea, who also had thrillers and action in his portfolio.

When Will The Series Release On Netflix?
Nzingha Stewart, who has credits for directing episodes of ‘How To Get Away With Murder’ and ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ has helmed the project. Zoe SaldaƱa along with Reese Witherspoon, Richard Abate, Jordan D. Katnik, Bryan J. Raber, and others are executive producers on it. Other cast members include Judith Scott, Terell Carter, Jonathan Del Arco, Danielle Deadwyler, and Giacomo Gianotti. The series will premiere on Netflix on October 21st, 2022.
