Shooting A ‘Very Naked’ Scene Was Liberating To Nicola Coughlan
The previous seasons of ‘Bridgerton‘ had no shortage of steamy sex scenes. So fans are pretty much anticipating some steamy scenes between Colin and Penelope as well. Nicola Coughlan has confirmed that she has done some very liberating sex scenes this season.
In an interview with Los Angeles Times, Nichola Coughlan revealed that shooting sex scenes with co-star Luke Newton in Season 3 was a positive experience for her. Despite her initial nervousness, the scenes made her feel positive about herself and liberated as well. “By the end of the day, we were both lying under a blanket, not clothed, just chillin’. We were like, ‘This is why nudists do it,’” Nicola said in an interview.
Nicola Coughlan has faced trolls online commenting on her body more times than it is possible to count. So this season she personally asked to be “very naked” for a scene.

Nicola Coughlan’s Strong Message To Trolls
‘Bridgerton Season 3’ intimacy coordinator Lizzy Talbot and Nicola Coughlan collaborated closely to plan some of the most steamy romance scenes. Nicola Coughlan said while talking about the intimacy scenes, “You go, ‘Ok, what do I want to show? What don’t I want to show? What’s scripted, and what do I want to add?’”
“I specifically asked for certain lines and moments to be included,” Coughlan continued. “There’s one scene where I’m very naked on camera, and that was my idea, my choice.” Nicola Coughlan also said, “It just felt like the biggest ‘f*** you’ to all the conversation surrounding my body; it was amazingly empowering. I felt beautiful in the moment, and I thought: ‘When I’m 80, I want to look back on this and remember how f***ing hot I looked!’”
