‘Stranger Things‘ Season 5 is arguably one of the most highly anticipated seasons of any show in the history of sci-fi TV series. The fifth and final season is expected to be big and exciting as the Duffer brothers will bring the saga to an end with it.
Ahead of the season’s release in 2025, star Maya Hawke, who plays Robin Buckley in the Netflix series, has talked quite a lot about it without giving much away. In a recent interview with Podcrushed, Hawke compared the whole season of eight episodes to eight movies. Here’s what she said.
Maya Hawke Talks About The Final Season Of ‘Stranger Things’ Season 5
Maya Hawke, who plays Robin Buckley in the Netflix sci-fi horror series ‘Stranger Things‘, talked to Podcrushed about the final season asserting that the final season is like a compilation of eight movies. “It takes a long time to write each season and a long time to shoot them. We’re making basically 8 movies,” the 25-year-old actress said.
Hawke is referring to the eight episodes of the series, announced earlier this year. While the production of the show has already commenced, Netflix has only revealed the titles of the episodes so far, but nothing more.
With Hawke’s comments, fans can expect a lot of twists and turned bundled into the final season, which the cast and crew of the show has already warned as one of the most exciting one of the whole run. Considering the details that ‘Stranger Things’ delves into in every season, it is not surprising that the episodes would feel like eight movies in one season.

Ross Duffer Suggests More Of The Upside Down Universe In Season 5
The central plot of ‘Stranger Things’ deals with the Upside Down, an alternate universe where the characters travel and fight mysterious creatures to save their world. Season 5 will delve deeper into the details of the mysterious world.
In an earlier interview, the Duffer brothers revealed that they had a 25-page document outlining the series’ mythology, and the Upside Down lore is a big part of the series narrative. Though the focus on the alternate world was comparatively less in the last season, the upcoming season is set to compensate for it.
“The only thing we don’t delve into in [Season 4] volume 2 is Upside Down lore,” Ross Duffer said at the time. “We hint at it. I’m sure someone on Reddit will be able to maybe piece it together, but a lot of those answers for the Upside Down, or that is really what the basis of Season 5 is about.”
