If you’re a fan of dark comedy thrillers, you might have binge-watched the Netflix miniseries ‘The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window‘. The Netflix miniseries that hit the screens in late January 2022, pokes fun at the psychological thriller genre. Kristen Bell as Anna, plays a lonely wine-loving woman, who witnesses a bone-chilling crime in her neighbor’s house.
The show, written by Rachel Ramras, Hugh Davidson, and Larry Dorf, got some mixed reviews, but it is a clever spoof of the tropes and clichés of the genre. Kristen Bell is amazing as Anna, and she takes us on a roller coaster ride from boredom to curiosity to horror in eight episodes. But if you are still over your head about the twists and turns of the plot and the shocking finale, we’ve got you. Here is everything that you need to know.

‘The Woman In The House Across The Street From The Girl In The Window’: Who Kills Lisa?
‘The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window‘ had us guessing who killed Lisa – or if she was even dead – for the whole show. Anna was sure it was Neil, the shady neighbor with a history of dead girlfriends. But the final episode dropped a bombshell: the killer was actually Neil’s sweet little daughter Emma (Samsara Leela Yett). The twist came out of nowhere, when Anna saw Buell going to their house with a hammer, and thought he was the bad guy. But when she got there, she found Buell and Neil both slashed by a knife, and Emma holding the bloody weapon. Emma confessed to Anna that she stabbed Lisa because she wouldn’t buy her chocolate boxes for school.
But that’s not all: Emma was a serial killer who had been offing people for years. She killed her own mom because she was pregnant and Emma didn’t want a sibling. She killed her teacher because she called her crazy. She even killed her dad because his ventriloquist act sucked. Emma tried to kill Anna too, but Anna fought back and killed her instead. Luckily, Anna’s ex-husband Douglas (Michael Ealy) showed up and saw what happened, so he could clear Anna’s name from the murders of Lisa and Neil.

Will There Be A Season 2?
‘The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window‘ jumps ahead a year at the end of the series and we get a look at Anna’s life after a year. Douglas and she are not only back together but also have a new baby. We learn that Douglas is at home with the baby, but there is no mention of whether Buell still lives in the attic. Anna, on the other hand, is flying to New York to meet her sister. While on the plane, she meets a passenger played by a cameo from Glenn Close who lets her know that she is sitting in the wrong seat.
They chat for a bit and switch seats, but then Anna falls asleep and wakes up to find Glenn Close gone. She goes to the bathroom and sees Close dead in the stall. But when she brings a flight attendant, there’s nobody and no one remembers Close. Anna thinks she’s losing it again, but then she finds a mirror that Close used earlier. This means that Close was real and something happened to her, which could be the next mystery for Anna in season 2 of ‘The Woman in the House‘.
