Musk went on to unban several controversial names on Twitter like Kanye West, Andrew Tate, and Kathy Griffith. He also unbanned Donald Trump‘s account after conducting a survey.

Recently, the SpaceX founder took Trump’s side in response to an article that mocked left-wing liberals for being angry over the unban. “I’m fine with Trump not tweeting“, he wrote.

He continued, “The important thing is that Twitter correct a grave mistake in banning his account, despite no violation of the law or terms of service.” “Deplatforming a sitting President undermined public trust in Twitter for half of America,” Musk concluded.

Musk had conducted a poll where more than 15 million Twitter users voted. Around 51.8 percent voted in favor of Trump’s unban. His account was suspended in 2021 following the Capitol Hill attacks, where he would tell his fans to march to the Capitol and also made claims about election fraud.

Earlier, the world’s richest man asked people if he should provide “amnesty” to suspended accounts who didn’t do anything illegal. He took to Twitter and conducted a poll for it.

Musk asked, “Should Twitter offer a general amnesty to suspended accounts, provided that they have not broken the law or engaged in egregious spam?

Almost 72 percent of people voted yes while 28 percent weren’t in favor of this idea. More than three million people voted for this survey. We can be assured that those accounts will be unbanned soon.

His way of making such decisions, on a whim or through polls has also received a lot of criticism from netizens.
