Patient nearly dies again,” she said, adding, “Hugh Laurie has a last-minute, left-field idea. Gets diagnosis right. Doesn’t get fired. Eight seasons of this?”

Shortly after, the English actor delivered a characteristically witty response. As reported by ‘Variety,’ Laurie revealed that he and his fellow creators had attempted to write several episodes in which Dr. House correctly diagnosed the problem immediately.

However, the sequences were “only 6 minutes long.” In fact, the showrunners also tried making episodes in which the infectious disease specialist never gets the correct diagnosis and the patient dies. However, the audience wasn’t “happy” with the team’s attempts to make the show more unpredictable.

Of course, Laurie received immense praise from the fandom for responding with his signature dry humor. The exchange also sparked a broader discussion about procedural television, with many fans arguing that the show’s appeal extended far beyond its familiar structure.
