Despite years of playing Ant-Man in the Marvel franchise, Paul Rudd still gets a rush from being around Earth’s other mightiest heroes during filming. Recently, the MCU veteran admitted that seeing so many iconic Marvel superheroes still makes him feel like a fan.

While the actor did not spill any spoilers about the upcoming project, Avengers: Doomsday,’ his awestruck description provided a clear hint of Marvel’s major plan for its audience. Recalling the unique experience of watching all superheroes under one roof, Rudd practically confirmed an unprecedented ensemble cast.

Speaking to ‘Variety’ about his work on ‘Avengers: Doomsday,’ Rudd shared that being on set fills him with the same childlike excitement that fans experience while watching Marvel movies in theaters. Even as a seasoned franchise anchor, the production’s sheer gravity catches him off guard.

The actor emphasized that simply looking around the set forces a sense of surreal reality. Seeing iconic characters and actors in costume continues to remind him why these films resonate so strongly with audiences worldwide.

“When I look around and see all those actors in their superhero suits, there’s something about that that’s just cool. When you see Chris Hemsworth walking around dressed like Thor—or any of them, really—it’s like, wow, this is crazy,” Rudd said.

“It’s a surreal thing and an amazing thing to be a part of that. I feel like I’ve made friends with so many of the people over the years, and you mentioned how long it’s been, and I think, ‘Wow, I’ve been with Marvel for a long time,'” the 57-year-old actor added.

Previously, Rudd reiterated that the most surprising part of the experience is that he still feels like a fan, even before visual effects and post-production transform the footage into the final cut. Being there when all the costumes, makeup, and other filming details come together creates an atmosphere that leaves him thoroughly impressed.
